Questions
Is my image uploaded?
No. The text is read and replaced inside your browser. The first time, the browser downloads the text-recognition engine (about 4.5 MB), which is then cached; your image itself never leaves your device.
What kinds of images work best?
Text on a plain or gradient background: banners, slides, social posts, screenshots, menus and price tags. Text over a detailed photo is harder, because the background behind the letters has to be invented; the tool warns you when the patch may show.
Will the new text match the old font?
The size, colour and boldness are matched automatically. The typeface itself cannot be identified from a picture, so you choose the closest style from four common ones.
Which languages are recognised?
English and other languages written in the Latin alphabet. For other scripts, draw a box around the text and type the replacement yourself.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Undo steps back through your last few edits. The original file on your device is never changed.
