Compress a PDF to under 500 KB
500 KB is a common cap for résumés, transcripts and multi-page applications. Often the file fits without touching the text; when it does not, this tool finds the sharpest version that does.

Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens inside your browser. The file never leaves your device, which matters for ID cards, certificates and other personal documents.
Will my résumé stay selectable?
If it can. A résumé made in Word or Google Docs is usually large because of embedded images or fonts, and is first shrunk with the text kept. Only if that is not enough are pages redrawn as images, and the page tells you when that happened.
Why can I no longer select the text?
To reach a small size, each page is redrawn as an image. If the original was already small enough with its text kept, you get that version instead, and the page tells you.
Can I aim for a different size?
Yes, use Compress PDF to a size and type any limit.
