Questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The image is resized and compressed inside your browser and never leaves your device, which matters for ID photos and signatures.

Can I compress a scanned document to 50 KB?

Yes. A page with a little text fits comfortably; a page packed with small print may soften, so check the preview before you upload. For a multi-page PDF, use Compress PDF to a size instead.

The form also gives a size in pixels. Can I set that?

Yes. Enter the width and height under Exact size. The image is cropped from the centre to that shape rather than stretched, so a face or signature is never squashed.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Choose a photo from your gallery or take one with the camera, compress it, and upload it to the form from the same phone.

Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes here?

We aim for 1,000. Forms disagree on which they mean, and a file under the 1,000-byte figure passes both kinds of check.
